Patient Participation Group

The Medical Practice would like to know how they can improve their service to you and would welcome your thoughts about the surgery & staff.

Meeting once a month we strive to improve communications between patients and practice, share information, provide feedback from patients, explore their changing needs and attend appropriate meetings; to touch on just some of the ways we can help improve the service you receive. The patient group usually meet on the second Tuesday evening of every month.

If you are registered with the Marden Medical Practice, the Patient Participation Group needs your help.

We are not members of staff but ordinary people who are registered with the surgery.

Meeting once a month we strive to improve communications between patients and practice, share information, provide feedback from patients, explore their changing needs and attend appropriate meetings; to touch on just some of the ways we can help improve the service you receive.

We’re looking for ways for more of you to register your views, to ensure that a good cross section have a voice. We can support the Practice staff in putting surveys together for this purpose.

So if you’re asked to complete a survey be assured that, on your behalf, the Patient Group has a real involvement in it.

Join Our PPG!

Marden Patient Group is looking for new members to join!
It is very important that the patients of the Practice have a voice, particularly in view of the changes coming into effect for the whole of the NHS.

If you want to join the group, know more about the group, or if you have ideas that might support our aims, then contact reception, or come to one of our meetings, or see the Group Notice Board on the left hand wall of the entrance foyer.

Together we can make a difference.

If so please contact the Practice Care Co-ordinator via reception.

Patient Reference Group

In addition to the Patient Participation Group, we have also set up a Patient Reference Group (this is in addition to and different from the Patient Participation Group above).

This Patient Reference Group is made up of individuals who are served by the Medical Practice and have agreed to take part in this project.

Members of the Reference Group are asked some questions from time to time, such as what you think about surgery opening times or the quality of the care or service you receive.
  • Various methods of contact are used (based on your preference) and communications are kept brief, so it shouldn’t take up too much of your time.
  • Replies are anonymous and a summary of the questions and replies is presented at a Practice Open evening ~ you may also wish to have some questions included in these brief patient surveys.
The aim is to gather a number of patients from as broad a spectrum as possible to get a truly representative sample of responses. Everyone is needed – young people, workers, retirees, people suffering from long-term conditions & people from non-British ethnic groups.

A few patients may be asked to meet with with Practice staff, in the surgery from time to time but this invitation will only go to those patients who indicate this would be something they are happy to do.

Join the PRG!

If you are happy for the Practice to contact you occasionally by email or post, please complete the downloadable sign up form below.

You can email this form back to the surgery (marden.marden@nhs.net), post it back or drop it off into Reception.

PRG FAQs

It is a group of patients who volunteer to get involved in discussions about services currently provided by the surgery and in the development of new services.
We want to ensure that the people who use our services are able to have their say. Your opinion matters to us; the people who use the services are the best people to tell us what works & what improvements we could make.
We can communicate with you in different ways to suit you – email, telephone or post. We will only contact people occasionally & the feedback we ask you will only take up a few moments of your time.
The GP’s will only see general feedback from the Patient Reference Group relating to current services and to developments we have asked the Patient Reference Group to consider.
We will only ask questions relating to the practice & the services we provide.
As always, all information you provide to us, will be kept safe & secure. Your information will only be used for the purpose you have provided them for & they will not be shared with anyone else.
If at any time you change your mind & no longer wish to be involved, let us know in writing & we will removed your contact details from our list.
